Description

Three wooden statues, one of St Thegonnec, one of St Anne, mother of the Virgin Mary, holding a book and a scroll, and one of St Maurice (d.1171) whose feast day is on 13th October and is invoked against convulsions in children. The first statue was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R579/1938). The second was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and the third was purchased by the Medical Museum in 1935 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R467/1938). None of the statues are held by Wellcome Collection.
