Description
Burroughs Wellcome & Co. desk/hanging calendar illlustrated with tales of folklore.  Includes advertisements for Wellcome products.
The folklore tales are taken from the following works: B. Bonnerjea, A Dictionary of Supersitions and Mythology; E. & M. A. Radford, Encyclopaedia of Supersitions and Lean's Collecteanea. Vol. 2, Bristol, 1902 (author not given).
Some examples of the tales included are as follows: a cure for ailments, particularly for a bad chest (drinking milk from a red cow); a cure for earache (holding a hot roasted onion against the infected ear) and a cure for gout (walking in the fields on a Friday morning before sunrise).
