Anorlior ]^orio(l has arrived for me to present to yon my Animal Rej^ort as to the liealtli and sanitary condition of the district. DEATH RATE. From the tabnlar forms accompanyino- this report, it will be seen that the deaths of 91 ]:)ei‘Sons were rey-istered in the district. I cannot ascertain that any r('si<lent of the district died out of, nor has any non-resident died in the district, conse(pienlly no correction is necessarv to tlie nnniber yiven above, Mdiich gives a death rate of Id'b per 1000, a rate I consider (piite satisfactory. 4die ages of death ranged from 15 minutes to 90 years, and the deaths of persons over 80 years of age nnmbered 17. AVith regard to seasons, there M-ere 27 deaths in the first (piarter, 25 in the second, 15 in the third, and 24 in the last. The eleaths of young children under one vear of age nnmbered 10. One death occnrre<l from Scarlet Fever. BIRTH RATE. Th(' birllis nnmlxn-ed 116. eipial to a birth rate of 18’6 per 1000. INFECTIOUS DISEASES. 1 will now iid’er to the ])revalence of infections diseases during the year. DIPHTHKRIA.—Only one case of this disease was notitied to me, SCARLKT FKA’FR.—ddiis disease has been very jirevalent in some })arts of the district, but the cases were generally of a very mild tygie. Forty-two cases Mon’c reported to me, viz. : fourteen at the Codfords. thirteen at Corsley, seven at hiorton, and one each at tJrockerton, Sutton Parva, Chitterne, Gorton, and Tyther- ington.
