Photograph of a display board from an exhibit at the Symposium on the History and Philosophy of the Knowledge of the Brain and its Functions, 15-17 July 1957. The board shows two pages of a manuscript written by Sir Victor Horsley (1857-1916), part of a joint paper with Walter G. Spencer on changes brought about by increased intra-cranial pressure on the heart, respiration and blood pressure. The paper was later published in Philosophical Transactions, 1891.
