Description
Photograph of a scalpel inscribsed "Stodard patent" and a Dutch catlin marked with a star and a cross, both from the second half of the 18th century. They were acquired as part of larger surgical instrument sets by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum from Raymond Russell and given accession numbers A500447 and A500452 respectively. They are now held by the Science Museum (object numbers A500447 and A500452). Related images: M0019946EA
