Description

Correspondence regarding developing open source sequencing software and decrypting the ABI (Applied Biosystems Inc.) file format. John Sulston's team used ABI sequencing machines which stored the sequencing data in proprietary software. Sulston decrypted the software's file format, allowing his team to access and use the raw data.
