Biographical note
Project description:This award is for the development of an innovative arts project raising public awareness of the risk factors and symptoms associate with sudden cardiac death syndrome (SCDS), the ‘silent killer’, a fatal but treatable heart condition that mainly affects healthy and active young people. Art works and short films will be developed through collaborations between artists, health professionals and a group of young people who are being tested for SCDS, focusing especially on their personal response to the diagnosis process. These works will be showcased in an exhibition at a London gallery and a national tour, and through other strategies such as film screenings at local cinemas, a website and an interactive CD-ROM.
