The Wardian case was an early type of terrarium, a sealed protective container for plants, which was primarly used for protecting foreign plants imported to Europe from overseas in the 19th century. The reproduction is of the Wardian container lent by the Chelsea Physic Garden, London, and exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The map is listed as exhibit no. 42 in the souvenir catalogue.
