Description

Photograph of a tambura with a hide sound box and six gut strings attached to a triangular wooden frame decorated with beads and velvet bands. A horn plectrum is attached to a leather thong. Acquired in Cairo and given accession number A70000 by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. It was transferred to the Fowler Museum, University of California, Los Angeles in 1966.
