Description

Three photographs of ambulances: a desert ambulance with wheels suitable for work in the sand, 1916; an Indian field ambulance used during the First World War; camel ambulance transport with a patient on an ordinary field stretcher. The first and third photographs were taken by Sir Arthur Balfour. The second is a reproduction published in The Times History and Encyclopedia of War vol.12
