Description
Photograph of three tobacco smoking items from Southeast Asia: title: a bamboo container from Indonesia; a tobacco pipe from the Solomon Islands; and a tobacco pipe from New Guinea. The container was previously part of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum but is not held by Wellcome Collection. The Solomon Islands pipe was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and is now held by the Science Museum (object number A123484). The New Guinea pipe was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1931 and given accession number A201720. It was transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles in 1966
