Biographical note

Project Summary:The natural limits of the human body have pushed medical surgery to extraordinary ends to extend human life. It is an unusual combination of blunders, brilliance, arrogance, mishap and murder that has allowed this blood-stained profession to defy the limits of the human body, but at what cost? At Cheltenham Science Festival 2009, members of the public will be introduced to anatomical dissection and the history and techniques of surgery, together with the ethical and philosophical tensions, through a series of discussion events, dissection workshops, and a lively outdoor anatomy demonstration.
