The female impersonator Reg Stone was the star of 'Splinters', one of the concert parties formed in France by British servicemen in World War I. The group re-formed after the war, and had an extremely successful career in revue into the 1930s. They appeared in a short film entitled 'Splinters' in 1929</p>
