Photograph of a display board from a Charles Scott Sherrington exhibition for the Symposium on the History and Philosophy of the Knowledge of the Brain, 15-17 July 1957. The board shows three pages of a poem by Sherrington: 'A recollection of his mother's garden' probably written when Sherrington was a first year student of Medicine at St. Thomas' Hospital, London in 1884. Charles Scott Sherrington (1857-1952) was an English neurophysiologist, histologist, bacteriologist and pathologist.
