Black and white photograph of plantation workers peeling, sorting, pressing and packing Cinchona succirubra bark in the plantation of Lembang, Central Java. The original photograph was lent by Professor A. Tschirch (of the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Berne) for <i>Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930</i>, an exhibition hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The photograph is listed as exhibit no. 478 in the souvenir catalogue. The item is not held by Wellcome Collection.
