First item is a series of letters receieved by Sir Harold Himsworth from the Social Medicine Research Unit of the Medical Research Council reflecting the monetary cost of diseases such as tuberculosis to the British economy with additional attachment of statistics reflecting these predictions. The second is a correspondence from Lord Jackson attached with the author's British Association Presidential Address, entitled 'Science, Technology, and Society'.
