Photograph of a section of an English version of the Laennec stethoscope showing the signature. The stethoscope is similar to that illustrated by Forbes in the fourth edition of his transaltion of Laennec's work A treatise on the diseases of the chest and onn mediate auscultation, London: 1834. At the time the photograph was taken the stethoscope was held by Dr Brown of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Related images: M0016403
