Writings, letters etc either by, or relating to, patients at the Retreat Includes the following 1. Small notebook containing verses contributed by Retreat women patients; most initialled at the end; some verses may be original; also includes some drawings by 'M.A.S.', 1831 - 1835 2.  A poem, written out on printed yearly epistle from London Yearly Meeting 1799 3. A poem, 'Jerusalem the Golden' copied out by patient, early 19th c 4. Bundle of writings, including poems, by an unidentified patient, 5 items, 1835 5. 5 copies of a reward notice for a lost watch, written by patient, 21 September 1822 6.  List of clothes for an unnamed patient, early 19thc 7. Silhouette of a woman annotated 'E. Dudley'. It is not clear who this is. It was found with patients' papers but there is no Retreat patient of that name. However it might possibly have belonged to a patient 8. Illustration, which looks like a print or a drawing showing various patterns and diagrams related to steam pumps and railways. This includes a drawing of people in a railway carriage and drawings of differently dressed men in a walking motion. At the top, and reproduced twice, on the right and the left, is a scene of countryside and cliffs with people in the foreground and a town beyond. This item was found in the Retreat Case Book 1845-1848 (RET 6/5/1/6). It may possibly have been drawn/printed by a Retreat patient, c 1840s
