Description

One of the most important medical manuscripts from the 10th century by Iranian physician 'Ali ibn al-'Abbas al-Majusi, written for King 'Adud al-Dawla.

Accessioned January 24th 1921, listed as bought from Sotheby's under lot 161. Bought for 2 shillings. Date of actual auction not listed, assumed to be accession date.

Script:Naskh Ink:Black Scribe: Ibn Abi Bakr Ibn Wahid Ibn Muhammed Ibn ash-Shihab al-Alanjani ابن ابي بكر بن وحيد بن محمد بن الشهاب الالنجاني Information on the scribe can be found on folio 73b, in beautiful calligraphy, listing the scribe's name and profession (physician).
