Photograph of a framed oil painting, after Schelte Bolswert, depicting Innocentius of Carthage curing a man of gangrene in the leg. A caption attached to the frame titles the work 'A Surgical Operation' and attributes the work to the Spanish School, likely for display in the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. The painting was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 19th December 1938 (R2917/1938). Related images: V0017545.
