Description
Comprises papers regarding the Wellcome Trust's plans to extend the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus to create a biotechnology hub at Hinxton. The Trust submitted a planning application in 1997, but it was rejected. After appealing, a public inquiry was held on 9 June 1998, but the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions determined that further evidence needed to be heard, leading to a second inquiry in March 1999. The inquiry ruled in favour of the South Cambridgeshire District Council. The Wellcome Trust submitted plans for a smaller development in 2002, which were approved.
