IMPERIAL INDUSTRIES CLUB HSW was heavily involved in the establishment of this retail trade organisation for the protection of patented goods and trade-marks against 'piracy and fraudulent substitution'. In early correspondence it is referred to as the 'Association Of Industries'. The following letters were sent out by HSW, mainly re. meeting details, attendance at meetings, additional possible members (companies such as Imperial Tobacco Co, Messrs J&P Coats and Messrs Keen, Robinson & Co Ltd. were approached), rules for committee. Sir George Hayter Chubb was the Chairman, WT Shore (later JE Evans Jackson) the Secretary. Several meetings were held over private dinners at the Carlton Hotel.
