Photograph of two display boards from a Charles Scott Sherrington exhibition for the Symposium on the History and Philosophy of the Knowledge of the Brain, 15-17 July 1957. One board shows a letter from Sherrington to Denny-Brown, referring to the Petrograd School. The other board shows a letter from Sherrington to Edward G. T. Liddell, giving an early reference to the stretch reflex. Charles Scott Sherrington (1857-1952) was an English neurophysiologist, histologist, bacteriologist and pathologist.
