There is a letter from Herman Merivale (1806–1874), permanent under secretary in the India Office, giving Hanbury permission to consult 'certain volumes relating to India' at the Public Record Office, 28 February 1871, pasted at f. 122v.
Hanbury's British Museum Reading Room ticket for 1874/5 is attached to the rear flyleaf.

Half red leather and gilt binding, with red buckram boards, and marbled end leaves and edges. Spine and front cover lettered in gilt 'N.B.16 D.H.' Paper label on front flyleaf 'Daniel Hanbury F.R.S. Clapham Common S.W.'
