a letter from E J Salisbury and D Brunt, Secretaries of the Royal Society, to Fellows regarding a proposed science centre, and whether they approve of the venture. Encloses a letter from the Office of the Lord President of the Council to the Society containing an update of the Government's views on the science centre; a roughly sketched map based on information in correspondence with the Government; and an alphabetical list of societies and organisations which would have accommodation;

a letter from J B S Haldane to E Salisbury arguing that the list of societies to be accommodated at the science centre is too long and diverse;

a letter from the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society to Haldane stating that Salisbury noted his comments.
