Photograph of six statues of a seated Imhotep, Ancient Egyptian chancellor to Pharaoh Djoser, High Priest of Ra and physician who was deified after his death. From top left to bottom right: 1. bronze statue on a marble base acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R47/1936); 2. bronze, encrusted statue acquired by the Museum at an unkown point and given accession number A63436; 3. bronze figure on a wooden throne acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R459/1936) 4. bronze statue on a granite base purchased at auction by the Museum and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R44/1936); 5. bronze statue on a sandstone base acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R51/1936); 6. bronze statue on a wooden stand acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R73/1936). The statues are not held by Wellcome Collection.
