Description

Two images on on negative: a photograph of John Benjamin Murphy (1857-1916) American physician and surgeon operating at the Mercy Hospital, Chicago. And a reproduction of a painting from 1859 of Christian Albert Theodor Billroth (1829-1894) German-Austrian surgeon, demonstrating to students. Both works were lent by Dr. E.A. Underwood, Director of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum.
