Photograph of a drawing by Cornelius Dusart, of a man decanting, possibly medicine, into a cup with a woman watching in the background. This reproduction was made during the VI International Congress for the History of Medicine held in Leiden 1927 at the Exposition d'art Medico-Historique and is described as Dessin [Drawing] 42, L'empirique, in the exhibition catalogue. The original drawing is held by the Teylers Museum, Haarlem. Another photograph of this image was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 14th February 1937 (PHO 9440).
