Description

Certificates addressed to the Directors of the Chatham Chest (from 1803 the Chest at Greenwich), a fund for the relief of men hurt or wounded in naval service, concerning disabilities and wounds of various seamen. Each certificate is signed by a ship's captain, surgeon and other officers.
