Project description:Neuroimaging has transformed the way scientists and medical professionals view the human brain. The resulting images inform research, improve patient diagnoses, and also potentially offer a singular insight into fundamental questions relating to personal identity and individuality. This project explores the science and ethics of neuroimaging and how it might be exploited in an artistic context to develop a wider understanding of the underlying science and the issues surrounding the use of these techniques. Realised through a programme of workshops, this will result in the creation of a touring digital portrait gallery based on the results of several neuroimaging studies.
