Top left-hand side of plate: Photograph of a boy in profile to showing the elongation of his head in Mowe, Nigeria. Bottom left-hand side of plate: Photograph of a group of Konyak boys stood in water wearing cane belts to constrict the waist, Nagaland. This reproduction was taken from another photograph of this image accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (PHO 10716), and purchased from Dr. Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf..
