Description

Photograph of the rear sides of two universal equinoctial dials and the back of a Butterfield type horizontal dial. The equinoctial dial is an Augsberg type and is signed "Johan Schrettigger in Augsberg". Undated, c.1800. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Musuem at an unknown point and accessioned in 1918 (accession number R10353). The second equinoctial dial is an Augsberg type inscribed "F. leva Pol....LTM". It was purchased by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1921 (accession number R12575). The horizontal dial shows the latitude of various towns and is signed "Macquart Paris". Udated, c.1730. It was purchased by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1922 (accession number R15223). None of the instruments are held by Wellcome Collection.
