Photograph of the exterior of the Convent of San Bartolomeo, Rome, once on the site of the Temple of Aesculapius, the remains of which can be seen at the bottom right, taken in 1929. Received by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum from Captain Johnston-Saint on 28 June 1929. Captain Johnston-Saint was a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum employee who travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and India purchasing items for the museum.
