Photograph of the rear side of an astronomical ring of an unusual type, signed "Butterfield Paris". Undated, c.1690. This instrument is closer to an equinoctial ring dial than most astronomical rings. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1959 (accession number R65/1959). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
