Description

Three statues of Saint Roch (Rocco) (c.1348-c.1379) pointing at a bubonic sore on his leg or with an attendant doing so. One statue was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1939 (accession number R797/1939). The other two were purchased in 1930 and at an unknown point respectively, and accessioned in 1937 (accession numbers R4769/1937 and R4812/1937. They are not held by Wellcome Collection.
