1 volume 282 pages + 15 folios. 8vo. 16.5 x 10.5 cm. On vellum. Modern stamped morocco binding. Some leaves are wanting between p. 258 and p. 259, as noted by the early 16th cent. owner who added the pagination. The text on p. 76 has almost entirely faded, and in other passages the original text has been written over and partly restored by the same 16th cent. hand. Written in a small current humanistic hand, 39 lines to a page. Some headings in red-mostly faded. On pages 121, 126, 175 are small pen-drawings of alchemical apparatus, and on page 276 a larger wash-drawing of a furnace ('stufa sicca et furnus philosophorum'). Last unpaginated leaf verso: tiriaca est a medicis appellata.

Alchemical and medical miscellany

1 volume 72 pages 4to. 21 1/2 x 16 cm. On vellum. 19th cent. half-pigskin binding. Margins slightly cropped. Written in a small gothic script, by the same hand throughout, in double column of 49 lines to a column. Ornamental initial in blue and red on page 1, other capitals in alternate blue and red; a few paragraph marks in blue, but mainly in red, headings in red. The pagination is modern. A rough pen-drawing of a lady in Tudor [?] costume, head and shoulders only, is found in the lower margin of page 72.

Composite collection of five short works (Miscellanea Medica III)

1 volume 175 folios folio. 29 x 20 cm. Original stamped calf binding over wooden boards, much worn. Two leather and metal clasps wanting, as also 5 out of the ten brass bosses on the outside of the covers. Lower margin of the penultimate leaf cut away: lower margin of the first leaf reparied. The last leaf is pasted down on to the cover. Written in a neat book hand 27-29 lines to a page. Ornamental initial in red and blue, with marginal decorations on foleave 1: other capitals and headings in red. Produced in Florence.

Compendium of veterinary medicine

1 volume 251 folios 4to. 21 1/2 x 14 1/2 cm. 18th century vellum binding over wooden boards: two brass and pigskin clasps. The inner margins of the first and last leaves repaired: some outer margins frayed.
