Description

Photograph of two three-bladed specula. The first is a cast of a Roman bronze specula found at Pompeii and now in the Naples Museum. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R7730/1936). The other is 17th century steel. It was purchased by the Museum in Paris in 1928 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R2850/1936).
