The Weizmann Institute of Science

(formerly the Daniel Sieff Research Institute). Very little remains to document Chain's early association with the Weizmann Institute, although it is clear that he seriously considered going to work there in the late 1940s (see A.79, A.80, H.66, K.12). He was a long-standing member of the Board of Governors, Chairman of the Committee on Membership and Honours for Public Services (from 1970 - see H.90) and Vice-President of the Weizmann Foundation from 1972 (see H.94).

Much of the following correspondence is with fellow Governors re forthcoming meetings and elections, and it includes discussions of many different aspects of the Institute's financial and administrative affairs as well as some more personal exchanges.
